Mmr is a stupid concept in general. If you are in gold you should play with golds no matter if you play for 3 years or 3 days. You start as noob and go to bronze, overtime you get better and go to plat and so on... why a good player plays on plat level in bronze?
MMR has nothing to do with this video. They think he plays like a platinum because his mechanics are good but he’s still making mistakes with his gold economy. MMR is just a measure of your individual performance. If you hop on a gold account and play like an iron player but your friends boost you to plat, once you go back to playing solo you’ll drop to gold quick and drop to silver bronze and maybe even iron faster than an actual gold player would. If you stagnate as a player you’ll stay stagnant in rank. Some seasons you might go up to silver or down to plat, but if your MMR consistently stays around the gold level you’ll always hover around gold rank. Your rank can be influenced by your teammates and friends. Your MMR can’t.
This is a misconception. There are lots of bronze players that have stronger mechanics than some diamond players. However, the bronze player is missing fundamentals. They don't know how to ward properly, control their waves, play around objectives, keep track of trading windows, all the things strong players do before you even take into account whether they can hit a skill shot. Bronze players know how to get lots of kills but don't know how to end the game
